It’s been a long time since my last post and I keep promising to do it more often…however I couldn’t go without blogging this beautiful Maternity Session.  I was fortunate enough to work with the stunning Brisbane Fashion and Muma Blogger Lucinda Skeats from Serendipity Lace at 35 weeks gestation along with her lovely family and petite bump!  Lucinda and her partner Sean were so easy going which always makes my job fun and so much more enjoyable.  Their Daughter Seraphina was so well behaved and had fun playing in the afternoon’s sunlight outdoors – golden hour can sometimes also be known as the ‘witching hour’ for toddlers but not Seraphina, she was an absolute gem & full of giggles!

First we met in my Logan Village based studio to discuss outfits and although I carry a small range of maternity drapes and gowns for clients to use…I was so excited to see that Lucinda had brought a couple of ‘Fillyboo’ branded dresses from Mama Rentals .  Mama Rentals stock such beautiful dresses suitable for both maternity shoots or baby showers and some of the designs can be worn even if you are not pregnant – for your newborn shoot for example.  The service allows you to hire a dress without paying a fortune for something you may not wear again and then return it – they take care of the cleaning for you, it’s such a perfect service!!

The white sheer maternity drape pictured below is one of mine which we used for some in-studio shots before heading 10mins down the road to capture Golden hour.  Lucinda was so lovely to work with, we had lots of fun and laughs – the pretty soft pale blue dress she wears can be found here which had the option of wearing on or off the shoulder and the gorgeous boho dress with the Royal blue embroidery detailing can be found here which was so pretty and playful in the afternoon sun.

We spent that last 5 minutes of sunlight with Lucinda wearing another white fitted Maternity gown that she had brought with her from her maternity shoot done last time whilst pregnant with Seraphina.  You can see how quickly that light changes last thing before setting below the horizon, it is always a last minute rush to not miss it – but so beautiful!

If you’re not already, then I highly recommend you follow Lucinda on Instagram or subscribe to her blog here, ‘Serendipity Lace’ is a her blog dedicated to being a source of fun inspiration for women and young girls who love fashion, home decor and family life.
